A staged directional-drilling installation running along Puriri Street and into Totara Street, with repeated drill set-ups, existing-service management and reinstatement through a live residential corridor.
The project involved installing a new underground gas feed from 1 to 44 Puriri Street and from 2 to 8 Totara Street in Gonville, Whanganui.
The route required a sequence of directional-drilling shots and machine repositioning through an established urban corridor, with service locating, access management, potholing and reinstatement forming part of the practical delivery.
It was not one heroic bore and a photograph. It was a staged network installation that had to keep moving through the real constraints above and below ground.
